Hi, I'm Richard Norris - owner and creator of Yoga Bloke Web Design. I taught myself HTML coding and built my first business website twenty years ago. It took me two months!
Since then I've worked across a number of different businesses, big and small. Merchant banking, investment, insurance, energy, regulation and change management across London, Sydney and New Zealand. Add to that cafe ownership, building two small businesses, writing a book and now a proud director of a yoga retreat.
Yoga has become an important part of my life – it’s what you learn about life off the mat that’s just important as the physical movements. I love this quote by B.K.S Iyengar – “Yoga does not just change the way you see things, it transforms the person who sees”. There are so many things yoga can teach us about life and business.
Starting a new business can be challenging, but creating a website doesn’t need to be. The emergence of some extremely good website template builders has solved many of the challenges I faced twenty years ago. Having a business background helps – because it’s not the technology that takes the time, it’s the front end. The visual bit that customers see, where you can simply, professionally and creatively tell your own important story.
Our pricing is very deliberately low. Too low to be decent quality? Well I guess you will be the judge of that. My motivation is to give back to a world that has given me so much. By helping other people, new start-ups, not-for-profits needing a genuine helping hand. For me, it’s the ultimate expression of abundance.
