The typical business owner I work with loves what they do, is happiest solving technical challenges for their clients, but feels held back by all the other stuff that is essential in running a successful business.
That may be building a marketing and sales system, clients from hell who are over demanding and then slow to pay; staff who can’t come up to the owner’s standard of work and result in too many call-backs, or the demands of all the quoting and administration that keep you up all hours of the night, rather than being with your family. Even if you have gone through extensive trade training the chances are it did not include much coaching, if anything, on how to run a business. Correct?
