In the late 1990’s we were asked to come to Whangarei as painters of the Potter, Lester and Oakvale Rest Homes. After completing these jobs, I wanted to live in Whangarei and started Rural Painters, which recently became Northland Painters. We wanted to do things differently, and got a painting franchise with Acra Flex Coatings to use their products. They are used in cowsheds and we painted probably around 50 rotary cowsheds from Wellsford to Kaitaia.
